"...where have you been and what happened to your website?":
Near the beginning of AUGUST 2001 we deleted our website's; Armor Foto, Dina's Weekly Jokes, GI Gene Armor Museum and Small Arms beacause of the HIGH cost to maintain these, our webspace used to be free and the cost to maintain these sites were beyond our means and no longer had the time available to maintain them proper......
GI Gene was called upon to serve on active military during July-August-September 2001, in October 2001 we had to find new residence as we have sold our house. November 2001 through February 2002 we were VERY, VERY busy with our new house and the others we purchased. We started to upload our photos on 5March02.
"....I was hoping to find pictures of ............. on your site and the link appears broken...."
We put a partial list of the vehicles we have photos of on the website, if there is no active link that means we have not yet uploaded the images. Bookmark the website, come back every now and then, we may have placed those photos your looking for online, until then, Please, be patient, as scanning, editing and uploading is a very time consuming process.
" I have a ( military vehicle / military modeling ) website will you please add it to you LINKS page?"
We are pleased to add any Military, Military Vehicle or Military Modelling website to Armor Foto LINKS page, we only ask that you add and maintain an active LINK to Armor Foto on yours. We will NOT add your link should we discover that at any time now or in the future, you have or link to any HATRED, PORN or ABUSIVE content on your website. NO exceptions !
Armor Foto is a family friendly site and will remain that way.
We DO RECOMMEND that you also consider adding your MILITARY VEHICLE website to the webring: MILITARY VEHICLES, information concerning the web ring can be found on the Armor Foto index page near the bottom.
"..you used to have 20 - 40 photos of each vehicle, now you only have 2- 4? "
We still DO have that many and in some cases..MORE. We just started adding photos to the website on March 5 2002, Soon, there will be many more> First we would like to have a few represenitive photos. Later this year you will have the opportunity to see ALL the photos: Complete walk arounds, detail shots and interior photos on select vehicles. Select vehicles have additional photos posted at our WebShots account.
"..what happened to our LINK on your LINKS page, its not there any more? "
There is only two reasons why we will remove a link:
1. Your site contains or has links to content which is Abusive, Hatred or Porn related.
2. You removed our link from your links page. By removing an active link to Armor Foto, YOU indicate to us that you no longer wish to have a reciprocal link from us. Should you decide to add our link again, email us and we will add yours again.
"..the photos are smaller than they used to be - why? "
Simple, to reduce the amount of bandwidth they use and the physical space they occupy. Our old website was free, now it is fee based and we have to pay for space AND bandwidth. The photos you see now are scanned at 100dpi, much smaller and with much less detail than they were before. Select vehicles have additional and larger photos on our WebShots account.
FULL SIZE photos scanned at 360dpi and our digital photos will be available on the CD - which will be available later this year.
". . .I have some photo's to donate to your website - how do I do this"
First email me stating you have photo's which you yourself have taken of military vehicles, I will then email you what is the best way to get those photo's to me for posting. I will not accept any photo's you have stolen from a website or are known to be public domain. I currently will accept MOST NON U.S. military vehicles.
" What is up with the WebShots ? "
The WebShots account is more affordable than web hosting - with WebShots I can provide YOU with an additional 500+ photos. Whenever you host photos on a website they require a LOT of bandwidth, the more photos you have - MORE bandwidth is used, the more visitors you have - even MORE bandwidth and we have LOTS of photos and visitors. With the price of WebShots verses the cost of bandwidth - the WebShots account is far more affordable.
